Our private tours can be customized to suit your interests. Here’s a sample itinerary that’s very popular with guests:
The tour begins with a visit to the Beyoglu and Pera districts where we stroll along the famous Istiklal Avenue before heading to the Galata district, a centuries-old Jewish quarter with a bustling street life and many synagogues. During this quarter we visited the Ashkenazi Synagogue. We continue on to Galata Tower where we can enjoy a stunning view of the city. On the way to the tower we pass historic diplomatic outposts, stately old houses and many trendy cafés and boutiques. We then visit the Neve Shalom Synagogue, the largest modern synagogue in the city center and home to a strong Jewish community.After the Neve Shalom Synagogue, we visited the Jewish Museum. r We continued our tour through the west bank of the Golden Horn, strolling through the quaint and historic old streets of the Balat Jewish Quarter, where many Jewish immigrants settled to assist with the help of Sultan Beyazit II Rebuild urban populations. The Star of David can still be seen on many of the facades today. To conclude our private Jewish history tour in Istanbul, we will visit the Ahrida Synagogue with its interesting Ottoman Baroque architecture and the bema (pulpit) shaped like the prow of a ship.
