The Sema ritual (whirling dervish) represents man’s mystical journey of spiritual ascension through love, finding truth and achieving “perfection”. He then returns from this spiritual journey as a mature and more perfect human being to love and serve all creation, all living beings, regardless of creed, class or race.
In Istanbul, the ceremony will take place at the Hodja Pasha in the historic Sultanahmet. The show begins at 7:00 pm with a 15-minute concert of Turkish classical music performed by a traditional orchestra. Under the stunning lights and mystical atmosphere of Hodjapasha, the ceremony lasts about 45 minutes. Complimentary drinks and Turkish delight service before the show.
