Tour Plan
Cappadocia is an extraordinarily beautiful region with unique landscapes that can be seen by traveling off-road in a jeep. Our Jeep Safari tour includes exciting open-top jeep vehicles that provide 360-degree views of the surrounding valleys, churches and other cultural highlights. This tour will lead you away from the crowds and towards hard-to-find locations that provide exceptional views. One day of adventure is all you need with this tour!
This tour starts around 10:00 in the morning and ends around 16:00 in the evening. Our adventure begins in Uchisar with a breathtaking view overlooking Goreme. From the viewpoint we drive to the village of Ibrahimpasa (Greek name is Babayan), you’ll see beautiful old Cappadocian stone houses with beautifully decorated facades rising amid newer buildings. On the other side of the village, a small road winds its way down a magnificent unspoiled valley. Our next stop is Pancarlık Church (Beet Valley). It is an abbey church set in a set of rock cones. The flat ceiling of the church is still completely covered with frescoes dominated in red and green, as well as the upper part of the small apse and most of the north and south walls. Not far away is the Sarıca Church, which was only recently discovered (it was buried under a mound) and has been completely restored. It’s in glorious seclusion and is only open from April to the end of October. Then we drive to Gomeida Valley to explore one of the hidden beauties of Cappadocia. This valley is known as the greenest valley in Cappadocia. We will continue our adventure with a drive to Golgoli mountain with beautiful rock formations next to Damsa lake. Golgoli is also a famous night sky observation area, used by TUBITAK (Turkish Council for Scientific and Technological Research) for summer camps. Last stop before lunch in Urgup is the village of Mustafapasa, a former Greek town inhabited by “rum” (Greek ). You can visit ancient Greek mansions and walk around the city. After lunch (not included in the price), we drive to Ortahisar, one of the smallest towns in Cappadocia with a picturesque rock castle that served as a fortress until the Middle Ages. The final stop is the Hallacdere monastery complex (also known as the Hospital Abbey), 1 km northeast of Ortahisar, one of the finest court monasteries.
It has a porch, a kitchen, a large burial chamber, five chambers of various sizes and a church with a cruciform plan with four columns. The animal head decoration on the capital and the figure sculpture on the wall are unique in Cappadocia. Due to siltation, the ground inside the facility is more than a meter below courtyard level.
The journey is about 100 kilometers and takes 6 hours. Note that the driver has basic knowledge of English and we will take you from one place to another. He will not be able to interpret the pages.
