After exploring the deepest cave in Cappadocia, we will climb to the highest point: Uchisar Castle. Uchisar is the largest rock castle in the region, built during the Byzantine Empire. Goreme Panorama, Kaymakli, Uchisar Castle, Goreme Open Air Museum, Pasabag, Avanos Our private Cappadocia tour begins with pick-up at your hotel at 09:30 AM. We provide hotel pick up from Goreme, Avanos, Uchisar or Urgup. The first stop is a stunning observation deck overlooking Goreme, where you’ll learn about Cappadocia’s rich history and unique rock formations. From this perspective, we continue to Kaymakli, the largest underground city. Your guide will explain how locals carved these multi-level underground cities to hide from enemies. In stables, wineries, temples, living quarters, ventilation shafts, etc., you can also see traces of their daily life. Go for lunch next time! Experience authentic Turkish cuisine in Cappadocia. After lunch, we will visit the highlight of Cappadocia – Goreme Open Air Museum. As you explore this spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site, your guide will explain the significance of the frescoes that cover the walls of the thousand-year-old cave church. Next, we will visit Passa Bagh with its famous mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys and the rock-cut monks’ cells of San Simeon. The tour ends in Avanos, a picturesque town on the banks of the Kizilirmak River. Famous for pottery since the Hittite era over 4000 years ago, we will see a demonstration of spinning wheel pottery and welcome our guests to experience this tradition for themselves. After Avanos, you will return to your hotel around 17:00.
